Starting with the July issue, BES has a new cover image showing a juvenile Port Jackson shark (Heterodontus portusjacksoni) that rests in a rocky reef. In NSW Australia, Port Jackson shark females lay their eggs in coastal reefs and the embryos take 10 to 11 months to develop and hatch. During this time, the embryo relies on its yolk reserve for energy and is vulnerable to environmental conditions. Photo credits: Connor Gervais.
